Maybe this feels familiar
You can be capable and confident in many areas—and still find these moments surprisingly difficult.
Now you feel exhausted—but saying what you needed felt selfish.
Your mind is still checking your tone, your words and what they might have meant.
You stayed quiet, then wished you had trusted yourself enough to say it.
You immediately started wondering what you had done wrong.
Practise a different response
Not perfect confidence. A more grounded choice in the moment that usually pulls you away from yourself.
The situation
Someone seems disappointed after you decline their request.
The familiar response
“I’m being selfish. I should just agree.”
A response to practise
“I can care about their disappointment and still be honest about what I can manage.”
The uncomfortable feeling may not disappear immediately. But it doesn’t have to make the decision for you.
Inside the workshop
Bring one everyday situation you wish you could handle differently. We’ll begin there.
Notice how criticism, rejection or disapproval can quietly become “I’m not good enough”—and begin separating the moment from the verdict.
Use a guided reflection to distinguish what actually happened from the story your mind is building around it.
Prepare a response for a situation where you usually stay quiet, over-explain, seek reassurance or automatically say yes.
Participant voices

Born with Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita, she grew up navigating disability and multiple surgeries. Being encouraged to recognise her strengths shaped her understanding of what it means to feel seen, capable and valued.
That perspective informs the space she creates: thoughtful, practical and grounded in people’s capacity to learn and grow.
